Who we are

HealthyKiwi ("we", "us") operates healthykiwi.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

  • What you give us. Your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter; your name, email and message if you use the contact form.
  • What we collect automatically. IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth and approximate (city-level) location. This is gathered by our own first-party script at /tracking/tracker.js and by the third parties listed below.
  • Cookies and local storage. See our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it

  • To send the newsletter you asked for, and to measure opens and clicks.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • To see which articles are read, so we publish more of what helps.
  • To serve and measure advertising, including personalised advertising where you have consented.
  • To detect fraud, abuse and security incidents.

Legal bases (UK/EU visitors)

Consent for marketing email and non-essential cookies; legitimate interests for security and aggregate analytics; legal obligation where the law requires retention.

Health data

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, information about your health conditions, medications or diagnoses. If you email us such information voluntarily, we will use it only to answer you and will delete it when the conversation is closed. We are a publisher, not a healthcare provider, and we do not maintain health records.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We display advertising to keep healthykiwi.com free to read. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.
  • Other third-party ad networks may also serve ads here; their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before any non-essential advertising cookie is set, via our consent banner.

Our own tracking script

We run a lightweight first-party script at /tracking/tracker.js. It records page views, referrer, screen size, time on page, scroll depth, outbound clicks and — for newsletter emails — opens and unsubscribes. It stores a random, non-identifying visitor ID in your browser's local storage. It does not fingerprint you, and no data is sold. It honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals, and any content blocker will stop it without breaking the site.

Sharing

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with processors who help us run the site — hosting, email delivery, analytics and advertising partners — each contractually bound to act only on our instructions.

Retention

Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don't email you again by accident. Contact messages: 24 months. Analytics: 26 months, in aggregate.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Californian residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. Email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days and will never penalise you for asking.

Children

healthykiwi.com is written for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our servers and processors may be in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Changes

Changes are posted here with an updated date. Material changes are announced in the newsletter.
